Rain Water Tanks -Sales, Service and Maintenance
Rainwater is collected via the roof, gutters and down pipes through an ‘easy to clean’ ground level cleaning pit (first flush device) and into an in ground rainwater tank.
Capacities of tanks available are 4,000 Litre -21,000 Litre concrete tanks . Increased capacities can be achieved by interconnecting tanks as required. The 5,000 litre capacity is the most common for BASIX, with other sizes available on request.
This Rain Cycle system is unobtrusive and when installed the only thing visible will be a 300mm x 450mm ground level cover plate. This makes the Rain cycle system suitable for placement in the front yard, back yard, driveway or in the garage. The choice is yours.
This rainwater supply can be then connected for use on toilet/s, outside tap/s and the cold water tap on your washing machine.
A slimline wall mounted control panel controls flow via a high pressure submersible pump and automatically tops up the tank from 10% to 20%. During extended dry periods there is no noise and the system functions automatically.
During periods of excessive rain, the overflow system draws water from the base of the tank, thus creating a self cleaning function. The discharge from the overflow will discharge the oversupply directly into the storm water system, or via an on site detention facility.
Utilising an in ground rainwater tank makes the Rain Cycle system particularly suitable for homes being built on relatively small suburban blocks. In the case where the installation is an above ground tank the associated collection of rainwater from down pipes is not necessarily practical.
