Do you have a rainwater harvesting tank on your property? A homeowner, business owner and even farmers derive benefits by these tanks, not only in reducing water bills and saving water, but also in many other environmental advantages. As a tank owner, you will also be self-sufficient.
Rain Cycle has more than 30 years’ experience in the design, manufacture and installation of tanks. We have supplied concrete water tanks of various sizes (from 4,100 litres to 21,000 litres) to households and all types of industry, for many different applications – from firefighting purposes to the collection and re use of water as well as storm water detention.
Newly built houses in some regions of Australia have their own onsite detention facilities, which normally include on site detention tanks (OSDs). As the name implies, the tanks will hold storm water for a limited period and then slowly release water until the tank is empty. The tank should remain empty except, when it’s raining and for a short period of time after that.
If you are looking for a storm water tank solution, Rain Cycle offers you two options, as follows:
- Install two water tanks – one for harvesting rainwater and one for storm water detention.
- Install specially manufactured dual use water retention/detention system.
You can find concrete OSD tanks, right here in Australia. You don’t have to import these types of tanks from overseas, because you can have them supplied by Australian manufacturers, like Rain Cycle. We can design your onsite detention tank during the development of your property.
One distinguishing feature of an OSD tank is the presence of a specially fitted valve or orifice, to regulate the flow of water that goes to the water system. This is how it works: the water that was collected during a storm event, drains slowly through a small opening near the tank base, through the storm water system. When the property is in a area that is prone to flooding, the OSD tanks help the control of downstream water during a flood peak, such as heavy downpours. This reduces water flow, thereby minimising flood damage.
Rain Cycle’s onsite retention detention systems can be installed, either underground, under your garage slab or under your driveway, so they are out of sight. They can also be positioned above ground, according to your specifications. Our tanks are made of concrete material, which is the preferred material by most homeowners and businesses, hence they are widely used throughout different areas in Australia. Underground tanks are also ideal, if you have a small property.
Our team consists of qualified professionals in rainwater tanks and harvesting. We have designers, engineers, and qualified tradespeople, who can help you design the right system for your needs.
Rain Cycle offers to supply you with your required OSD tank; and we will handle all aspects of installation, including securing council approval, which should be done beforehand, to avoid delays in the implementation of the tank. Our service also includes construction of base slabs, lids and drainage pit.
